CS:GO Revolver Case Features Elite Skins During a Controversial Update

Revolver Case Brings CS:GO a Controversial New Weapon
While Valve regularly introduces new maps, weapon skins, gloves, and knives into the game – it’s rare to see them add a new gun. However, that was exactly what they did in the December 8, 2015, update featuring the Revolver Case.
This update featured a new secondary weapon, the R8 Revolver. However, what was meant to be an exciting addition to the game, quickly became a huge problem. For 48 hours, the R8 Revolver was the most overpowered gun in the game. Essentially a portable AWP, players could kill an enemy with a single shot to the chest, or two shots with armor. It was clearly the most broken sidearm released and the community was quick to point out the problems. Desperate for a quick solution, players turned to Valve to fix the error.
Two days later, on December 10, 2015, Valve released a second update called “Damage Control.” At that point, the values of the gun were adjusted to bring it more in line with other weapons in the game. In addition to reducing damage, the R8 Revolver would now take longer to fire.
Introducing the Revolver Case
The CS:GO case released with the update was the last case of five from 2015. The Revolver Case included 17 skins, two of which were R8 Revolver skins designed by Valve. In addition to the weapon skins, the case also contained the normal set of knives frequently seen in a variety of cases including the Bayonet, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, Karambit, and M9 Bayonet. To open the case, players would need the Revolver Case Key.
What’s Inside the CS:GO Revolver Case?
Inside the Revolver Case, CS:GO players would discover several skins featuring various shades of reds and golds. Aligning with the new R8 Revolver, two R8 skins were included, Fade and Crimson Web. Many of the designs in this case feature intricate details.
Seven of the skins have no float value caps while the remaining ten do. Thirteen of the skins are available in all conditions with the G3SG1 skin The Executioner unavailable in Factory New, and the R8 Revolver skin Fade and the Desert Eagle skin Corinthian unavailable in Battle-Scarred. Market Demand and Rarity
The Revolver Case has fewer than 30,000 listings on the Steam Community Market currently. It’s found in the rare drop pool, making it possible for players to still get it as an in-game drop. For a very long time, this case was available for less than $0.05. However, similarly to other cases, prices have increased in 2023. Now, purchasing the Revolver Case will cost around $2 - $3.
The skins found in the Revolver Case hit a variety of price points. The most expensive being the StatTrak Factory New version of Royal Paladin for M4A4 with a price tag of just over $400. The version without StatTrak technology lists for only about $130. Other skins hitting near the $100 zone include the G3SG1 skin The Executioner, the AK-47 skin Point Disarray, and the R8 Revolver version of Fade, all with StatTrak.
Topping the charts for prices from this knife collection is the StatTrak Bayonet Fade skin, coming in at over $2,000. Also near the top, players will find the StatTrak Karambit Fade skin along with the Urban Masked and vanilla versions of the M9 Bayonet.
Get Your CS:GO Revolver Case
Prime Status players have a chance of getting the Revolver Case as a drop from their weekly level-up. However, if luck isn’t in their favor then purchasing the case might be a better option. If it’s knives they’re after, players may also want to consider checking prices on the other ten cases holding this same knife collection to see if prices are more favorable. With the majority of the skins from the case coming in at reasonable prices, if it’s a specific skin they’re after they may be better off buying it outright. Either way, be sure to level up and have fun in CS:GO.
