eSports 2013 Winter Case Offers Exclusive Skins to CS:GO Players

Large online games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive offer gamers around the world an opportunity to play together and form bonds. One important aspect of these long-running games is to provide updated content to keep the game from getting stale. Around the holidays, this could include adding features such as themed holiday lights or even reindeer chickens. While these decorations helped liven up CS:GO, players desire something more long-term. Thankfully, CS:GO delivered with not one but two cases, just in time for Christmas.

Presenting the eSports 2013 Winter Case

The CS:GO eSports 2013 Winter Case was added to CS:GO on December 18, 2013. This special case was the second in the series of three eSports cases and offered an exclusive collection of weapon skins. Inside this case, players could discover a variety of beautiful skins featuring shades of blue, black, and a dash of red. With limited availability, the eSports 2013 Winter Case became a sought-after treasure for collectors and fans of competitive CS:GO, leaving its mark on the game’s evolution and cultural significance.

Introduced as part of the Winter Offensive Updates, this case contains 12 skins made by Valve. Some of the money made from eSports key sales were set aside to fund prize pools for the Counter-Strike eSports community. The arrival of the eSports 2013 Winter Case also marked the end of the road for the eSports 2013 case that was released in August 2013.

Market Value and Rarity

The eSports 2013 Winter Case has since been discontinued and is no longer available as an in-game drop. The case has less than 1,800 listings on the Steam Community Market and runs at a price of about $10. Since it no longer drops in the game, purchasing or trading is the only way for players to grab this case for their collection.

The knives found in the case are exceptionally rare, contributing significantly to their extraordinary value. It is not uncommon to encounter several of these knife skins listed at prices around or even exceeding the $2,000 mark, with many fetching well over $1,000. The allure of obtaining one of these prized and elusive drops plays a crucial role in driving the dynamic economy of CS:GO, fueling the passion and excitement of players and collectors as they engage in the pursuit of these coveted treasures.

As for the individual weapon skins in this case, the top-priced skin is the StatTrak Factory New version of Cobalt Disruption for the Desert Eagle with a list price of just under $250. However, there are a number of other skins priced above the $100 range including the AWP Electric Hive, and the M4A4 X-Ray, both in Factory New condition with StatTrak technology. However, players who prefer skins with StatTrak can get them for as low as $4 from this collection.
