CS:GO Prisma 2 Case: New Skins after Operation Shattered Web Ends

CS:GO Prisma 2 Case Offers Something New After Operation Shattered Web

The end of an operation can leave players feeling somewhat disappointed. However, Valve is great at giving the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community something to look forward to. The end of Operation Shattered Web came with a light at the end of the tunnel for CS:GO players with an update and the release of the Prisma 2 Case.

A follow-up to the Prisma Case, the CS:GO Prisma 2 Case gave gamers around the world a whole new set of 17 community-sourced skins along with a repeat of the acclaimed Horizon Knives in Chroma finishes knives from the Prisma Case. In addition, the update retired the maps Breach and Studio while adding two new maps: Anubis and Chlorine.

Revealing the Prisma 2 Case

Released on March 31, 2020, the Prisma 2 case required a Prisma 2 case key to open it. Inside, not only would gamers discover another round of the coveted Horizon Knives including Navaja Knife, Stiletto Knife, Talon Knife, and Ursus Knife, but they’d discover some truly magnificent skins.

Vibrant colors and intricate designs adorn the weapons skins in this case that the community has grown to love. It’s not uncommon to see other players running around the battlefield with some of these incredible skins.

Market Demand and Rarity

The market demand for the Prisma 2 Case isn’t actually that impressive considering it is part of the rare drop pool. Players can purchase a Prisma 2 Case for less than $1 on the Steam Community Market. However, that could be due to the fact that there are still plenty of these cases in circulation. With over 141,000 listings on the Steam Community Market alone, it’s clear that there’s currently no shortage of the Prisma 2 Case. Historically, cases don’t seem to start increasing significantly in value until fewer than 500 listings remain on the market. Of course, that being said, there are always outliers.

As far as the contents of the Prisma 2 Case, there are some drops that really stand out. The Marble Fade version of the Talon Knife, for example, has a current listing at over $1,800. Other Horizon versions of the Navaja Knife, Ursus Knife, and Nomad Knife have listings above the $1,500 range. Needless to say, the knives of this collection are quite valuable if they meet the high standards of the community.

As far as the weapon skins go, there are a few well-priced skins on the market. The Factory New version of the M4A1-S Player Two with StatTrak technology is currently listed as the highest at just under $300. Other versions of Player Two as well as the Glock-18 Bullet Queen fill all of the listings above $50. Disco Tech, Phantom Disruptor, and Justice all follow close behind. It stands to reason that, should the case be discontinued and experience diminishing availability, the value of these skins will rise, but only time will tell.

Get Your CS:GO Prisma 2 Case

Considering this particular case no longer drops as often as others, players who want to get their hands on a Prisma 2 Case may be better off trading or purchasing, especially when prices are so low. Of course, getting the case in the weekly level-up drop could be a possibility, but players are much more likely to end up with one of the other cases from the Prime pool. Ultimately, it’s up to each player to decide how they want to invest their in-game time and money to complete their collections.
