CS:GO Operation Broken Fang Case Holds Steady Despite Being Discontinued
7/19/2023

Operation Broken Fang Case Kicks-Off New CS:GO Operation
Operation Broken Fang started on December 3, 2020. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players were granted access to the Operation Broken Fang case the same day. The case was available to all players with the Operation Broken Fang Premium Pass which could be purchased for $14.99. This operation included exciting new features such as the Retakes mode and an Operation statistics panel, which has since been updated to CS:GO 360 Stats. As of March 29, 2021, the updates were made available to all CS:GO players. Then, about a month later on April 30, 2021, Operation Broken Fang came to an end.
The Operation Broken Fang Case itself was comprised of 17 community-created weapons skins. Players also had a very small chance of receiving a pair of the coveted Broken Fang Gloves. Just like all other CS:GO cases, this case does require a matching key in order to be able to open it. After the conclusion of Operation Broken Fang, the Operation Broken Fang Case was discontinued. This means it no longer drops in-game and can only be acquired as a purchase or trade. However, the Broken Fang gloves are still currently available through drops in both the Recoil Case and Snakebite Case.
Examining the Operation Broken Fang Case
As the first case for the operation, players were greeted with new maps, statistics, and more in addition to the case so it had to be strong enough to capture the attention of gamers around the world. Needless to say, the case was a hit with more than 56,000 cases sold on the Steam Community Market the first day. From there, value decreased as more players were able to acquire the case on their own but that didn’t slow the market down at all. Every day between 50,000 and an astonishing 300,000 cases were sold. Toward the end of the operation, sales continued to climb before slowly decreasing for several months. As the fall of 2022 rolled around, case sales started steadily climbing until a massive spike in March of 2023.

Market Demand and Rarity
Since the Operation Broken Fang Case no longer drops in-game, the only way to acquire it is through purchase or trade. Currently, the case itself will set you back between $4 and $5. However, there are still a significant number of cases in circulation with over 8,500 cases on the Steam Community Market alone. It’s possible that the case inventory will continue to decrease over time. Typically, as this happens, cases will rise in value, but nothing is certain when it comes to the volatile CS:GO market.
Several of the gloves continue to price at much higher prices with Jade and Snow Leopard leading the way at over $1,700. The Yellow-Banded Broken Fang Gloves are also up there in price at over $1,100. Needless to say, these gloves are still in high demand despite the fact that they appear in three different cases.
Market value of the Operation Broken Fang Case weapons skins has also continued to grow, but one clear skin stands out against the others on the community market. The M4A1-S is currently holding 9 of the top 10 high-priced listings for the case. Prices range between $165 all the way up to nearly $1,400 depending on the skin’s condition and whether or not it comes with StatTrak technology. The next ten positions offer more variety but also feature the more popular skins of the collection including Five-SeveN | Fairy Tale, USP-S | Monster Mashup, and others.
Get Your CS:GO Operation Broken Fang Case
While players can no longer acquire the case as an in-game drop, there still seem to be plenty of Broken Fang cases in circulation for collectors and investors alike. Players still have a chance to get the high-valued gloves but may be more likely to choose the more common, less expensive cases if that’s what they’re after.
