CS:GO Horizon Case and the Panorama Update Bring New Skins & Knives

CS:GO Horizon Case Brings New Knives for Gamers

The August 2, 2018, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Panorama update brought the Panorama UI to all users running compatible systems and several bugs were fixed regarding the UI. The update was essentially a visual overhaul of the game and the most substantial change since CS:GO’s release. Everything from the main menu, how players interact with the game, and even the scoreboard received an updated interactive experience. There were also some changes to some of the explosives in the game. Another thing included in the Panorama update was the Horizon Case which featured 17 new community-designed weapon skins as well as four new CS:GO knives.

The Horizon Case came almost a full six months after the Clutch Case released in February 2018. Needless to say, players were hungry for the new skins and enthusiastic about the new knife set dubbed the Horizon Knives.

Examining the Horizon Case

The August 2018 release of the Horizon Case in addition to the Panorama update left many people predicting the case would be overshadowed by the impressive visual change. And, while the update did visually change the world of CS:GO forever, the case did manage to stand on its own. Some of the most popular guns in the game received incredible new skins. In addition, players were given access to four new knives in 13 different finishes.

What’s Inside the CS:GO Horizon Case?

Unlocking the Horizon Case requires a Horizon Key, but with both of these things, players would gain access to some of the most popular designs for their favorite weapons. Players were eager to collect and use these new skins while trying for one of the rare new knives. With the Horizon Case placed in the rare drop pool along with its counterpart the Danger Zone Case, players to this day have a chance to unbox the weapon skin or knife of their dreams. Market Demand and Rarity

With the Horizon Case still firmly seated in the rare drop pool, getting the case in-game is still possible. The fact that players can still get the case combined with the fact that there are over 62,000 Horizon Cases on the Steam Community Market alone means that there isn’t a whole lot of demand for the case itself. This is reflected in its low price point of less than $1. In addition, the same knives also appear in the Danger Zone Case which is also available in the rare drop pool. Currently, Danger Zone cases run about the same price as the Horizon Case but with much more availability with listings surpassing the 260,000 mark. While there’s always a chance Valve will discontinue these cases, there’s no guarantee as to if and when this will happen, or if value will actually increase or not.

However, with some skins such as the Factory New Neon Rider with StatTrak technology for the AK-47 coming in at over $450, there is still value to be found inside the case. The Classified and Covert skins go for varying prices over $50 depending on conditions and the market. Whereas the knives seem to hit prices above $1,500 in some instances.

Get Your CS:GO Horizon Case

While the price on the case itself isn’t that impressive at this point, the potential contents sure seem to be. With a little luck, Prime status players will be able to score the case in-game and open it to find it full of the best treasures that they can then add to their own collection or use to sell or trade for other skins they desire. Either way, these popular skins and knives certainly made a splash in the CS:GO community.
