eSports 2013 Case is the Rarest Case in CS:GO and Offers Exclusive Skins

eSports 2013 Case: A Discontinued Case That’s a Blast from the Past

The CS:GO Arms Deal update brought significant changes to the game including new weapon collections, the introduction of StatTrak technology, new knives, and more gameplay depth. UI improvements streamlined the inventory management process, and many other features that would go on to have a lasting impact on the community. At the same time, CS:GO players were granted access to two new cases, the eSports 2013 Case and the original CS:GO Weapon Case.

Examining the CS:GO eSports 2013 Case

The eSports 2013 Case was released alongside the CS:GO Weapon Case but with some notable differences. As the second weapon crate ever released in CS:GO, this case made its appearance on August 14, 2013. Players would need an eSports key to open the case and a portion of key sales were set aside for the growing Counter-Strike eSports community. Not only did this case provide players with an opportunity to obtain rare CS:GO skins, but it also helped increase interest in the competitive eSports arena. The eSports 2013 Case was the first of three eSports cases in CS:GO between August 2013 and July 2014.

What’s Inside the eSports 2013 Case?

The eSports 2013 Case included nine iconic weapon skins that players were eager to add to their collection. This would come to be known as the eSports 2013 Collection. Market Value and Rarity

The eSports 2013 Case has since been discontinued. Players no longer have the opportunity to receive this case as an in-game drop and instead can only purchase or trade for it. As a result of the already limited volume combined with a gradually diminishing case inventory, the case value has increased significantly. Right now, there are less than 385 of these cases listed on the Steam Community Market, and purchasing one will cost about $50. For many collectors, this is an acceptable price considering it occasionally gets to a price point of nearly $70.

The skins inside the eSports 2013 Case are also highly valued. The most prized skin of the bunch is the Factory New StatTrak version of the AWP BOOM with a price of nearly $1,000. Factory New versions of other skins including Orange DDPAT for both Sawed-Off and Galil AR regularly price around $500. Other top-selling skins include Death by Kitty for $280 and Red Laminate for $260. The lowest-priced skins from this case tend to go for between $3 and $4.

Listings for knife skins from the eSports 2013 Case are occasionally at or above the $2,000 range with most listings falling between $500 and $1,500.

Get Your CS:GO eSports 2013 Case

While the case itself no longer drops in-game, there are other ways to get it through purchases or trades. Specific weapon skins may list for high prices, but others are still quite affordable. Depending on what players need for their collection they may be able to purchase the case in hopes of getting the skin they want. They could also purchase or trade for the skin directly, which may be a smarter option depending on the rarity of their desired skin. The knives, however, are available in a number of cases so if players are after one of these knife skins, then there are plenty of other, less costly opportunities.
