Chroma 2 Case Gives Second Chance for Original Chroma Knives
Many of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive updates include exciting new gameplay modes, major bug fixes, new features, and of course a weapons case. However, some updates are smaller than others. When it came to the April 2015 update, players experienced this firsthand. While the update itself was rather unremarkable, addressing only an incorrect radar name and crouched movement speed, there was one feature in the update that got CS:GO fans excited: the addition of the Chroma 2 Case.
A Look at the Chroma 2 Case
Released a mere three months after the original Chroma Case, the Chroma 2 Case came into existence on April 15, 2015, as the second case of five in 2015. CS:GO players wouldn’t see the Chroma 3 Case for a little more than a year when it was released in April 2016.
Requiring a Chroma 2 Case Key to open, this case contained 15 community-created designs for some of the most popular weapons in the game. In addition to the weapon skins, players had a second chance to get the original Chroma knives. The knives were available once more in five different styles, each with 12 variations of the Chroma finishes.
What’s Inside the CS:GO Chroma 2 Case?
The skins featured in the Chroma 2 Case had no official theme. It seems as though half of the weapons featured neon colors while many of the others featured designs with blacks, whites, and golds. This created a nice spread that included skins that would fit a variety of aesthetics and preferences. And, while the skins are not available in any other cases, the original Chroma finish knives are available in three: the Chroma Case, Chroma 2 Case, and Chroma 3 Case.
The full list of weapon skins included in the Chroma 2 Case includes:

Market Demand and Rarity
The Chroma 2 Case currently has fewer than 9,000 listings on the Steam Community Market. It’s no surprise that the lower number of listings has affected the price of the case. After all, in the CS:GO economy, rarity is a major price factor. This places the Chroma 2 Case at a price point between $3 and $4.
When it comes to the contents of the case, prices for individual skins seem to start around $550 with the M4A1-S leading the charge with the StatTrak Factory New version of Hyper Beast. From there, it’s quite a jump to the other skins with other versions of the Hyper Beast ranging anywhere from $75 to $165. There don’t seem to be any other weapon skins above the $70 mark for this case, but the Eco for the Galil AR makes an appearance at around $65. The other skins appear to all be under the $45 range.
When it comes to the Original Chroma Knives, the market does not seem to be suffering much. A Factory New Karambit with Tiger Tooth, for example, is listed at just under $2,000 keeping company with the M9 Bayonet with the same finish. Damascus Steel Karambits tend to run between $1,500 and $1,600.
Get Your CS:GO Chroma 2 Case
Being one of three Chroma cases that can still drop in-game from the rare drop pool, players have multiple opportunities to score one of the incredible knives in this collection. However, if they’re after a specific skin from the Chroma 2 Collection, then opening cases, trading, or purchasing is probably the best way to go. No matter their approach, there are plenty of opportunities available when it comes to scoring one of these incredible drops out of this case, or even the case itself.
